My New 2 Week Project: Book Party on July 11th
Elisha and I finished the legal paper work for me to produce Chica Luna's annual Film Festival's after-party and E-Fierce's book launch party of The Sistahood. I'm super-exicted for this event as I get to work with Chica Luna and promoted this amazing book for young adult readers.
Save the Date for July 11th if you are in the city - this will be a great party, smart folks, summer martinis and lots of goodies!
We are planning a movie poster design contest for the book and the winner gets $500, and a t-shirt design contest for a free I-Pod - and teaching curriculum contest also for a new I-Pod.
Does My Second Life Tricia look like First Life Tricia?
Kenyatta worked me this weekend on my Second Life Avatar - so how do I look?
Here's a real pictures of me staring at Tricia Enzyme.
It's hard to give specific ethnic features - I feel like it's easier to go with Caucasian features b.c there are a lot of assumptions built in their default choices. For example - my chest looks big right now - but that's as small as I make my breasts! And right now my mid-chest looks either botoxed out or anorexic - but it's the only way I could maintain my petiteness - I tried to add more body fat but it just made me look freaky - you know with pudgy fingers and toes.
I need to meet someone who designs avatars to look like First Lifers. Does anyone know someone like that?
I now know how to build a prim and fly- when I first started flying over the water my I didn't know how to land and I ended up in the water - in First Life I started freaking out by screaming and breathing really hard as if I was drowning and feeling Enyzme's pain. And I definitely was not dramatizing it as i was only doing this by myself with no one in the house.
I LOVE ENDO - I'M IN LOVE WITH MY NEWSREADER!
or a RSS junkie like me - I have found the perfect fix with Endo. Over the last weeks my life has just been so overwhelming with work projects and personal stuff - that I just stopped blogging completely on YOUMEITI.COM - my other site. Part of it though, is because I feel that Netnewswire, wasn't working for me anymore. So when it asked me to merge my account with Newsgator - it inspired to look for an open source or more dynamic newreader. My problems with Netnewswire were that I couldn't directly Delicious urls, difficulty with posting to Ecto and difficulty managing all my folders.
Endo has solved all of that! It's made by the person who made Ecto - so it feels innate to my fingers and eyes.
I really wanted to use Vienna b.c it's open source and designed macfully - but it doesn't post to your blog nor delicious. So when those features comes out - I will consider switching. But for now - I LOVE LOVE the way Endo is organized. It let's you toggle between 2 windows - one that manages your subscription and one that shows the current folder. All those icons on the top row are folders I've created to manage my feeds.
I am much happier now that projects have wrapped up, summer is here, and I have a better newsreader - oh and my mac book is hanging in there for now.
