China is all about Africa now. This was a life-size poster in an African Market Kiosk in Asia's largest shopping mall. they were selling "african masks" and your usual wood carved items.

Everyday on CCTV News - they report about the latest "friendship" news that is developing between AFrica and China.

It helps that AFrica has some of the largest unearthed oil fields.

So this is an advertisement in ShijiShi - the new high rise apts in the previous picture. What's odd is that the this is a Candadian Daycare being advertised in Beijing-I think this attests to the large # of foreign residents here. And what's funnier is that the children in the ad are black, white and brown - but no yellow/Asian children.

3 years ago this was farmland. Now, this is one of the newest high rise apts. in Beijing. This is just 1 section - so multiply this view by 30 - and that's just 1 of many new sections of Beijing. A lot of these apts are owned by foreigners. A 2 bedroom/2bath rents for $2,500.
