See a Secret...Share a Secret

One of my favorite blogs -
I am still trying to figure out what I would send in as my secret. I am trying to think of all the evil things I have done that I am too ashamed to tell anyone. hmmmmm.....

See a Secret...Share a Secret:

(PostSecret is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcard.)

(New secrets are posted here every Sunday. Comments are added during the week. Click on any postcard to enlarge it.)

I have never cheated on anyone. But I'm in a situation right now where i'm so close, it's frightening. This card was a warning sign that I needed to receive, to make sure that one day, that WON'T be my card.

Thanks to the person that went through that, and helped me from making the same mistake.

I go to an all girls boarding school. Sometimes girls can be so tough on one another. I know this for a fact.

We were in a physics lesson once, and we were learning about static electricity. We blew up balloons, rubbed them on our jumpers, did the experiment. No problem. Till someone accidentally popped their balloon on a pin. Then everyone started doing it. 14 balloons popped all at once. A girl couldn't take it, she just couldn't. She screamed and cried. We didn't know what was wrong. She really screamed.

We then found out that she has a phobia of balloon popping. Then some girls did it more just to pest her. How awful, I didn't know what to do, so I punched those 2 girls. Then I got suspended. But I feel as if I did something good for that girl.

Subject: PostSecret Book

My sister gave me the PostSecret book. I was reading through it and experiencing all sorts of different emotions. From crying to laughter to anger all in one sitting.

I sat down after and made a postcard. A secret that was REALLY bothering me.

Finding the right pictures, and words was a way to work through that problem. I realized the exact words. The perfect words. Instead of sending you the postcard. I talked to the person who was causing the problem. With those perfect words I had found for the postcard, I was able to tell her my secret.

Sista Souljah

Wow someone out there in the world actually reads my blog. I am very proud that my my blogging friend "A Black China Hand" appreciates what I have written.
Sometimes I feel BLS (Blogger's Lonely Syndrome) - where you post and post - and you feel that no one really reads or cares. I especially lately have been dropping friends when they say "how is china?" My response has just been "read my blog and then you can ask follow-up questions." I take it really personally when friends don't read my blog. Why can't everyone in the world have an RSS reader and a blog - then we will never have to talk to each other. just kidding.
Or you know what else pisses me off - when someone says "I just haven't had time to read your blog." It's the equivalent of saying "I just haven't had time to call you." well if you're so busy then don't bother telling me how busy you are.

I came across this blog via a comment the author (Tricia Wang) made on a recent post of mine. It’s TWang dropping all types of science on life, fashion, travel and everything in-between. At once insightful, irreverent and humorous…her recent posts on China couldn’t have been written better then…well..then if I wrote them myself. (I think I may have met my blogging opposite—I’m African-American writing about all things Chinese and she is Chinese writing about things African and African-American.) Anyway, the site is dope!

NO PIRACY BE A RESPONSIBLE CITIZEN"

uhhh funny for a country were piracy is part of our identity. There is no one better in the world of piracy than us Chinese. Sorry South America - we win the prize here on piracy! I bet you they pirated this sign - and I bet you some official was paid off with pirated goods to get someone to put this off so he could look good.

"Punished Severely All Sorts of Crime"

wan Guo gong yuan; Beijing, China

this is hung up in an apartment building trying to warn people to not committ crimes - but it's a really nad translation.
Great translation - so who do they punish the officers or the criminals? Looks like to me the Community Police Offier here is being punished.

Who the Hell is Robert Wells? - Ebullient Blood Giver

ohh the careers of failing musicians past their prime - where do they go - china!
This reminds me of when my brother told me that he found Naughty by Nature in August 2005 playing at a small dance club.
well according to this Robert Wells is headling the Ebullient Blood-Enthusiastic China New Year Concert.
sometime who obviously isn't a native english speaker wrote this bio on him
"Do you know he is a world class master pianist insoculate the classical piano, sympohny, jazz and rock and roll, To be a perfect unit he has magical fingers and perfect look. He has created a miracle in the world of musical field, having performed as many as 12,800 intinerent concerts. he is unique in the world."

Made In Taiwan - whoops China -

This is from "That's Beijing" - a magazine published in English in China. Notice how this says "MADE IN CHINA" but below it says the location of where it is made is "TAIWAN, CHINA." Interesting considering how Taiwan doesn't consider itself a part of China but China definitely considers Taiwan to be Chinese territory. Although china has always referred to Taiwan as Chinese territory, I just thought it was interesting that this piece was published in a magazine catered to an expat foreign crowd.
