Chatting on the Beach with Mr. Madsen

I just had lovely breakfast with one of my favorite professors from UCSD. We talked shop about China taking over the world :). My grandfather would be proud.

Btw if you arr ever in San Diego, get breakfast at Kona's in Pacific Beach. They have a hidden beach front dining area!!

Don't Eat On the Corner in NYC!

Phil: I'm hungry, let's eat here. It's Mexican.
Tricia: No Phil, this looks like a bad idea.
Phil: why Tricia?
Tricia: well Phil, it's on a corner and it's Mexican food in NYC = Taco Bell like and expensive.

So Phil was so hungry that he insisted on eating here anyways. Plus I wasn't eating so he said I couldn't complain. The service was so bad! The waiter first said that I had to order something even though I wasn't hungry. It was 3pm in the aft on Wed and there were at least 20 empty tables! Of coure I didn't order. Then our tables and menus had old dried crusted salsa. Then they waiter said he couldn't take credit card b.c the boss would deduct from his paycheck! Don't try to scam my ass-we're not from out of town! The lesson: don't eat mexican in a manhattan! The only decent Mexican is in Queens or Brooklyn. Don't eat on a corner in NYC- especially in West Village! They don't have to provide great service b.c they usually get toursists and students. The best eats are usually hidden and have no more than 10 tables-thus a small, attentive kitchen
