many repressed memories from childhood.

1.) I forgot how much standing Catholic sermons require
2.) as I reflect back on my Catholic days, I now think my ADD ( Attention Dynamic Discipline) prevented me from being a good Catholic. I could never stand or sit still, and I still can't!
3.) if I had a cellphone I might have made it as a Catholic. The cellphone could just have prevented my switch to practicing Wicca. with a cell phone that can take pictures, my ADD is under control as I sit here Text Messaging during the sermon.
4.) I used to be an altar girl. My dream was to become a priest. Then I found out women couldn't become priests. The no-sex policy didn't deter me b.c I was 13. I always thought priests had so much power b.c they could make people sit and stand whenever and for however long they wanted. And plus a priest gets to hear all the juicy confessions.
5.) during my Euchriast when I was 12, everyone was supposed to pick their saint for the final ceremony. Getting your Euchrism is a big deal! It's what every good Catholic works toward and it's the beginning of life long communion with God.
There are unspoken gender rules for picking your saint: boys chose boy saints, girls chose girl saints. The girl saints were boring, so I chose John the Baptist. JB had power! He baptised Jesus for Christ's sake! He dipped people under water - and plus everybody loves JB - the's the least controversial of all the saints. So of course a little 13 wannabe priest juggernaut like me chose JB! My sunday school teacher wasn't very happy. I stood my ground - and I got my Eucherism. 1 year later I was kicked out of that church - and I became a Protestant - they were much more accepting.
6.) So far, 6 cellphones have gone off! Each with a diff tune. Church is fun with cells! We didn't have cells back when I when I was Catholic
